Japan’s Biggest telecom Giant NTT to invest $560 million in NEC to catch up in 5G race

Japanese telecommunications business Nippon Telegraph and also Telephone (NTT) will invest 64 billion yen ($560 million) in NEC Corp to intensify initiatives to create fifth-generation (5G) wireless innovations, the two companies stated on Thursday.

The resources alliance will certainly offer NTT a 5% stake in NEC as its primary network equipment vendor wishes to break the dominance of Huawei Technologies, Ericsson and Nokia in 5G network framework.

The company and Mitsubishi Corp have collectively taken a risk of 30% in Dutch digital mapping firm HERE Technologies.

NEC and NTT additionally stated they prepare to interact on post-5G technologies, including all-photonics networking and also computer technologies being developed by NTT.
